I really have no idea where this little tid bit of information originally came from. There has never been any valid science that ever backed it up, yet it is trumpeted as the truth from average gym goers to meatheads everywhere.

Based on the available reasearch, there is no reason to assume that the body can only use a certain amount of protein per meal. Short term studies have made assumptions about how much protein is necessary for muscle growth, but trials drawn out over longer periods haven’t backed up this reasearch. So, is there a limit to how much protein per meal can be effectively absorbed and used by the body? Probably, but this limit is likely similar to the amount that you should be taking in for the whole day. What’s the most protein that the body can effectively use in an entire day? The answer to the million dollar question is... it depends on several factors. In most cases it’s not too far from a gram per pound in drug-free trainees, provided the trainee is getting enough total calories throughout the day. Does it matter if you get this protein is 3-4-5 or six feeding? No not really. If you are really interested in the science behind it, read the article attached to the link below. Its written by someone smarter than most of us. Have a good day.
Is there a limit to how much protein the body can use in a single meal?
